The Story So Far (from book one)

When last we left our fearless defenders of all things right and noble, Croowz (pronounced "Cruise") had successfully saved weary travellers from a bushfire in outback Australia, and helped reunite a lost Joey kangaroo with his mother during the blistering heat of an Australian summer. Even though he was very brave, all the while Croowz had been feeling quietly lonesome for he believed he was the only one of his kind on earth.

All the way across the world in England, where it was winter, Race C Rows (an anagram of "scarecrow") had rescued Oscar, the mischievous kitten of his friend, Spliff, from a Guy Fawkes night at Leeds Castle... and nearly become burned at the stake for his efforts. Only a last minute daring rescue by Spliff and her feline friends saved Race C from disaster. After that he felt he needed a holiday and went on a trip to the big city of London. There he discovered, and helped foil, an attempt to steal the Crown Jewels from the famous Tower of London by wayward magpies. But like Croowz, all the while that Race C was being so brave he was quietly feeling lonesome because he believed he was the only one of his kind on earth.

As the last chapter in Book One drew to a close, carrier pigeons competing in the international carrier pigeon competitions at the Tower of London discovered that Race C Rows and Croowz were not the only ones of their kind on earth, and they were about to bring messages of hope to the straw-filled saviours of feathered and furry friends that... there is another...
